Event Description

Western Wyoming Community College will host a Career and Transfer Fair in the Atrium on campus, Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.

The event serves as a connector between prospective employers or four-year colleges and students.

Our experienced staff in Mustang Success work with students on résumé writing and enhancing their interviewing skills. They will review student résumés prior to being submitted to an employer and conduct mock interviews to ensure our students are ready to enter the workforce.

Genesis Alkali, Western Wyoming Beverages, City of Rock Springs, Elwood Staffing, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, United States Marines, Wyoming Department of Corrections, Infinity Power and Controls, WyoRadio, Southwest Counseling, Wyoming Machinery Company, Wells Fargo, John Bunning, Covenant Testing Technologies, JenMar Services, Aspen Medical Center, Goodwill, Plains All American, Wyoming Department of Transportation, Dominion Energy, Uinta County Sheriff’s Department, United Rentals Inc., Mandros Painting, Prime Pest Control, and Wyoming Workforce Services are some of the employers who will be present at the fair. Additionally, the Sweetwater County Veteran Services Officer will be present to assist veterans.

Genesis Alkali and Mandros Painting will be conducting interviews for qualified candidates at the Career and Transfer Fair. Genesis Alkali will be in room 1333 and Mandros Painting in 1348.

Utah State University, Westminster College, and Dixie State are some of the four year institutions who will be recruiting transfer students on March 27th.

“The Career and Transfer Fair is an event our students and community look forward to each year. This is a great way to network with employers, research four year institutions and the programs they have to offer, and an opportunity for employers to let our community know the kinds of career opportunities available at their organization. There is something for everyone at this event whether one is exploring or genuinely interested in finding an occupation,” said Teresa Shafe, Student Success Advisor at Western Wyoming Community College.

Students should dress for success and have copies of their resumes on hand to distribute to potential transfer schools and employers. Employers and Universities who have not yet responded have until March 20th to do so and be included in this event.

The career and transfer fair is sponsored by Wyoming Workforce Services, Western Wyoming Community College, and Mustang Success. The event is free and open to the public. For questions or more information, please contact Teresa Shafe at (307) 382-1646, or at tshafe@westernwyoming.edu.
