With so many more summer adventures to discover, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find just as many activities and events to keep your family cool and entertained in Sweetwater County. From golfing to hunting and everything in between, it is truly a paradise for the outdoorsy family. Activities

If your family’s idea of a relaxing cool-down is casting a line, you won’t find a better place to hook a trophy fish. We’re home to numerous reservoirs, including the 90 miles of shore at Lake Flaming Gorge, cold-water fisheries, and rivers, you can conveniently angle from your boat, in-stream or on the waterfront. Ensure your good time by checking the local fishing report and regulations. And be sure to come back in winter for our award-winning ice fishing and fishing competitions.

Kayaking, rafting, tubing and swimming are classic summer activities designed to keep your family cool. Luckily, Sweetwater County is in no short supply of venues to meet your on-the-water needs. Green River Whitewater Park and Tubing Channel is a great place to start. With enough variety to keep everyone entertained and activities for all skill levels, you’ll be glad you tested the waters at this family-friendly adventure playground.

If you’re looking to add sailing, jet skiing and boating to your “chill-out schedule,” your family will love the high-speed adventures you can have in Flaming Gorge Country. Not only can you take an unforgettable scenic drive through the surrounding mountains, you can also find a shady spot to camp near the shores, launch your watercraft of choice, fish, swim, and unwind in this breezy high-desert oasis. Need to rent tubing and kayaking gear?
