Award-Winning Event, Hotels Just one of Many Reasons to Visit Southwest Wyoming

Sweetwater County, Wyo. – Sweetwater Travel & Tourism announced several honors and awards received by area tourism-related businesses and one of its signature events, Wyoming’s Big Show®.

Jenissa Bartlett, Executive Director of Sweetwater Travel & Tourism, says these awards prove that Sweetwater County’s convenient location at the junction of I-80 and Highway 191 in southwest Wyoming isn’t the only reason for vacationers to add the area to their summer travel itinerary.

Wyoming’s Big Show® - The Sweetwater County Fair
The Sweetwater County Fair (a.k.a. Wyoming’s Big Show) has been honored by three different organizations. It has been named the number one summer event in Wyoming by Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine. The Big Show was also named a Top Ten event by AmericaTheBeatuful.com. Finally, Top Events USA recently named it one of the top 15 events in the state of Wyoming. Each summer the event draws 70,000-plus visitors from hundreds of miles away to the Sweetwater Events Complex. The fair features a rodeo, family-friendly carnival rides, food, concerts and 4-H and livestock exhibits.

Homewood Suites by Hilton, Rock Springs
For the second time in two years the Rock Springs Homewood Suites has earned the prestigious Connie Pride Award. Named after Hilton hotel chain founder Conrad Hilton, these award winners are considered the most esteemed within the Hilton organization. The Connie Pride Awards recognize hotels performing within the top 10 percent of the Hilton brand. Measurements include cleanliness, condition, adherence to brand standards, staff service (as indicated by customer satisfaction scores), and the quality of the hotel's physical accommodations. Hotels receiving the award are presented with a trophy, a monetary prize and special recognition during a series of regional brand meetings.

Hampton Inn & Suites, Rock Springs
The Hampton Inn & Suites was named a Circle of Excellence Award Winner by Hilton. This award recognizes the top 10% of all Hampton Hotels. The winners are selected based on customer feedback for overall accommodations, as measured through guest satisfaction surveys about the hotel, as well as product quality and service scores measured quarterly by the company. The Hampton Inn Rock Springs has been ranked number 96 out of 1,229 Hampton Inn properties worldwide.
