Green River Union Pacific Railroad Yard
Watch the trains and take a look at the rail yard by walking across the pedestrian bridge.

Visit Art on the Green
Green River has numerous awe-inspiring sculptures, statues and art work displayed through the city. Start on Uinta Drive and don’t forget Centennial Park on Flaming Gorge Way.

History Set in Stone
The history of Rock Springs is captured in several sculptures and memorials throughout the town. Visit the ‘Dough Boy Solider’ at Bunning Park, ‘Clearing the Hallway’ and the
Historic Rock Springs Coal sign downtown by the train depot, the Korean War Memorial at the Sweetwater Events Complex, the giant American Flag and ‘The Patriot Eight’ on
the corner of Dewar and Gateway and the one of a kind Veteran’s Park on the east end of town.

Reliance Tipple About 10 Minutes North of Rock Springs
Simply take Highway 191 North to Reliance Road and see one of only two remaining historic coal tipples in Wyoming. Built in 1936 by the Union Pacific Coal Company it was once considered one of the largest and most mechanically advanced coal tipples in the State.

Green River’s Splash Park and Trona Bridge
On a warm day cool off at the new Splash Park and take a walk across the Trona Bridge to Riverside Memorial Park.

Thomas Moran Overlook
Directly off I-80 at Exit 89, visit the site where Thomas Moran, long recognized as one of America's foremost landscape artists, painted his rendition of Green River in 1871.

Historic Trails
Sweetwater County has more miles of pristine trails than any other area in the nation. Highway 28 parallels the Oregon, Mormon, Pioneer, Pony Express and California National Historic Trails, and trail ruts are visible at various sites.

Sweetwater County & Rock Springs Historical Museums
Take part in historic exploration at the Sweetwater County Museum in Green
River. Chronicling southwestern Wyoming heritage, the museum contains exhibits, historic photographs and local history materials. Further your historical journey by exploring local mining culture at the Rock Springs Historical Museum.

Community Fine Arts Center
Paintings by Norman Rockwell, Grandma Moses, Loren McGiver, Elliot Orr, Edward Chavez, Paul Horiuchi, Ilya Bolotowsky, Raphael Soyer, and Rufino Tamayo compose
some of the permanent collection along with paintings by well-known Wyoming, regional, and local artists at the Rock Springs Fine Arts Center.

Western Wyoming Community College Dinosaur Exhibit
This college has become home to five life-size replicas of creatures that walked eons ago. Several wall mounted fossils of fish, huge leaves and reptiles that have been found in the area are also on display. The WWCC Natural History Museum includes artifacts such as prehistoric pottery, smaller fish fossils and items associated with the earliest known humans of the area.

Expedition Island
Talk a scenic walk around Expedition Island in Green River where John Wesley Powell started his expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers in 1871. Enjoy the walking path around the island or walk along the river on the Green Belt Nature Walk.

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area
Flaming Gorge makes perfect use of the County's unbelievable 300 days of sunshine. A boater’s paradise, Flaming Gorge is known for its brilliant red cliffs, incredible vistas and nearly 100 miles of boating waters and trophy fishing. You can access Flaming Gorge on Highway 530 through Green River or Highway 191 through Rock Springs.

Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge
Located 37 miles North of Green River, visitors can find Seedskadee by driving West on I-80 to the LaBarge (Highway 372) turnoff. The headquarters are approximately 28 miles from the exit. The refuge is a haven to more than 200 species of birds and offers world class trout fishing along with waterfowl, upland bird and big game hunting.

White Mountain Golf Course & Rolling Green Country Club
The public is invited and encouraged to golf these beautiful facilities. You may encounter moose, deer and waterfowl throughout your game and both courses offer dining, pro shops and spectacular driving ranges.

White Mountain Petroglyphs and Killpecker Sand Dunes
A series of dirt and gravel roads loop through the area north of Rock Springs. This is a land of ancient volcanoes and modern herds of wild horses and desert elk. About 26 miles Northeast of Rock Springs are a series of ancient artworks (over a dozen panels) and some of the largest active sand dunes in the world. Take Highway 191 North about 10 miles to the Tri-Territory Road, follow this road to the petroglyphs and sand dunes.

Pilot Butte Wild Horse Loop Tour
Feel your heart pound to the thunder of wild horses on the Pilot Butte Wild Horse Scenic Loop Tour. The sight of flowing manes and powerful strides is something visitors are unlikely to forget. The self guided tour can begin in either Green River or Rock Springs and is about 50 miles long, 24 of which are gravel roads.
