History of Sweetwater County

FACT: The “Oregon Trail” in Sweetwater County (and much of Wyoming) is actually four National Historic Trails in one corridor— Oregon, Mormon Pioneer, California and Pony Express.

Sweetwater County is the perfect place to explore American history. Petroglyphs on White Mountain preserve the pictorial language of the prehistoric people from our region.
