- Tourism Week-Cindy reporte=

Tourism week committee met and the group decided to make it tourism
month, we will be offering classes like camping, outdoor recreation,
Dutch oven cooking, mountain biking and other tourism opportunities in
Sweetwater County. Terri said the group also suggested little goodie =
bags
for attendees; the group will continue working and report back to the
board.

said the Chambers and Events Complex are currently scheduled to report
during grant hearings, she suggested pushing them back one month to a=
llow
more interaction and Q&A time as well as shortening the grant
hearings.

- Ashley reported the Denver=
ISE
was a huge success and the Sweetwater
County booth =
gave
away double the information from last year. She is exploring the poss=
ibility
of a press trip for the next budget cycle, the website redesign is on=
its
final stages and should be live soon, the University of Wyoming
is looking into the map project and if they agree their price is
substantially lower than other avenues the board has looked at.<=

board has budgeted for promotional items, Ashley asked the board for item
ideas. Terri suggested a first aid kit, Janet mentioned carabineers with
compasses, wrist ids, Cindy liked miniature flashlights. Kandi suggested
Nalgene water bottles, Ashley said we will be needing more Wyoming and County hat pins.

Ashley
said this spring the county will host two groups; the State T&T Board a=
nd
State visitor’s center employees. There are no specific plans yet but=
the
Rock Springs Chamber would like co-host these groups when they arrive. The
board has money in both board discretion as well as leftover money in other
areas that could be spent hosting these groups. Kandi made a motion to supp=
ort
the groups coming in, Terri seconded (motion passes 7-0).

asked the board to write a letter in support of the Green River Chamber bec=

a visitors center, Teri made a motion to support writing the letter, Kandi
seconded (motion passes 7-0). Ashley asked Janet to send over the informati=

- Next Meeting Grant Hearing =
- Ashley wanted to remind the
board the March meeting will be one week early due to scheduling
conflicts on the 14th. It is a grant hearing. <=
